On August 28, the UAE will celebrate its annual Emirati Women’s Day, a special occasion that honours Emirati women, and brings attention to their incredible contributions and their valuable role in the UAE’s society. Established in 2015, the date was selected by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak to mark the anniversary of the formation of the UAE’s general women’s union.

Early this year, Her Highness announced that the theme for Emirati Women’s Day 2021 will be “Women: Ambitions & Inspiration for Next 50 Years,” aiming to highlight the ambitions of Emirati women and their aspirations for a better and more prosperous future, in light of the leadership’s support and empowerment of women.
